Our vaccination protocols have been carefully chosen based on recommendations from the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). These recommendations are based on years of intensive research aimed at finding the perfect balance between over-vaccinating and leaving pets susceptible to preventable diseases.

But vaccinations are just one piece of a complete preventative health care program for your pet. We also have standards for parasite prevention based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Companion Animal Parasite Council.

Probably the most important piece of any preventative care program for pets is often the most overlooked. We believe that every pet, regardless of age, should receive a complete physical examination at least yearly. For middle-aged and older patients, we recommend exams every six months and regular laboratory testing. These precautions are what help us find health issues early -- when they are most treatable.

Dr. Longtin has been performing acupuncture for her patients since she completed her training in this fascinating healing art more than 10 years ago. Behavior Modification

If your pet does something that causes disharmony in your household (such as aggression, separation anxiety, destructive behavior, etc.), we can help! In fact, in-home care offers a large advantage in these cases: we can see the pet's "native environment", including any stimuli that may drive behavior and damage that may result. Not to mention that we might even catch them in the act! This is an opportunity traditional vets miss, and one that can make all the difference in how quickly and effectively the behavior issue improves. (Note: not all behavior issues can be addressed, but many can be greatly improved or completely reversed).
